HIV Testing:
HIV-1/HIV-2/HIV-O(Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1, 2, and O) by RNA Testing
A viral load test measures how much of the HIV virus is in your blood. You want to have a low viral load because it means your treatment is helping to control the virus. If your treatment is working effectively, your viral load should drop to an undetectable level in your blood. You'll have your viral load tested two to four weeks after you start treatment, then every four to eight weeks until the viral load is no longer detectable.
